NBAA 2002: Bombardier Learjet 40 Will be Offered With Optional Indy 500 Package Interior

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 10, 2002 -- Bombardier Aerospace and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) will combine to offer Bombardier Learjet 40 customers an optional package that includes a unique, race-car inspired interior and VIP access to racing events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the upcoming racing season. The Indy 500 Interior Package will be available for a limited time on the new Bombardier Learjet 40 for an additional cost of $150,000 U.S.

"Bombardier Aerospace has long enjoyed deep relationships with customers in the motor sports world," said Peter Edwards, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Those relationships led to the signing of a sponsorship agreement between Bombardier and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy Racing League earlier this year. The Indy racing car and the Bombardier Learjet 40 have a lot in common when it comes to speed and performance, so we thought we would celebrate our relationship by sharing with our customers a piece of the excitement through the execution of this unique, inspired concept interior."

Mr. Edwards and Tony George, president, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, announced the Indy 500 package at a ceremony to unveil the Bombardier Learjet 40 interior at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Annual Meeting and Convention in Orlando, Florida. "Bombardier, through its broad family of business aircraft, plays a very important part in professional auto racing. Needless to say, we're pleased to have an ongoing sponsorship relationship with them and we're pleased to be able to be a part of this unique and attractive customer option," Mr. George said.

The mockup is outfitted with a striking red and black interior, inspired by a high performance Indy racing car. The sleek new look incorporates extensive use of embossed leather, graphite surfaces and metallic accents. Redesigned, ergonomically improved seats are two inches (5 cm) wider than those previously offered in the Bombardier Learjet 45. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway logo will be embossed into the upper portion of the seatbacks. The Indy 500 Package will be available through the end of 2005 as a special option. It will also include four admission passes to the Bombardier pagoda for all three IMS events at the venerable "Brickyard," including the "granddaddy of them all" the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400 Winston Cup Race and the SAP United States Grand Prix Formula One race.
